abstract A process for preparing styrenic polymers having both isotactic and syndiotactic structures, which comprises polymerizing styrene or its derivative using a catalyst containing as major components (a) a solid component containing titanium and halogen and being insoluble in hydrocarbons and (b) a component of a reaction product between alkylaluminum and water. The polymers are excellent in heat resistance, moldability, and mechanical strengths.
