Amyloid peptides |
abstract |
Amylin has been found to be useful in the confirmation or prediction of diabetes mellitus and for use in treating vasodilation. Particular the sequence KCNTAT has been found to be significant in amylin and there are provided synthetic peptides containing sequences including KCNTAT. Also provided are synthetic amylin and amylin-like peptides, a substantially pure amylin, various hexa- and -heptapeptides related to amylin and processes for the preparation of DAP including a vector containing a genetic sequence coding for amylin. |
