abstract In order to make the anesthetic gas consumption as small as possible and at the same time in an anesthesia machine with at least one reservoir for an anesthetic and a ventilator to which the gas is supplied from the reservoir via a line and which is connected in a known manner to the patient's airways To ensure that the patient is still constantly ventilated with anesthetic fresh gas of a defined composition, the exhalation gas is, according to the invention, at least one filter (20) in which predetermined gas components such as water vapor and CO₂ are filtered out, directly or via a compressor (28) to the reservoir (8.9).
