titleOfInvention Sealed type nickel-hydride battery and production process thereof
abstract A sealed type nickel-hydride battery comprising a npositive electrode made of nickel oxides as an active nmaterial, a negative electrode made of hydrogen storage nalloys as main materials which may absorb and desorb nhydrogen as an active material electrochemically, an nalkaline electrolyte, and a separator, and prior to a nsealing the electrode in a battery case, a positive nelectrode contains Co and/or cobalt oxides having a noxidation potential lower than that of nickel hydroxide nand a negative electrode is not subjected to a suffincient precharge as required for the substantial battery ncapacity to be limited by the capacity of the positive nelectrode. And a battery is sealed at this state, and nat an initial charge, said cobalt and/or cobalt oxides nare charged and a precharged section absorbed hydrogen nis formed in a negative electrode corresponding to the ncharge capacity of said cobalt and/or cobalt oxides.
