abstract | A triazine derivative, a herbicide containing the same as an effective ingredient and the production of said derivative represented by general formula (I) or (II), [wherein X1 represents H, an alkyl, alkoxy or alkylthio group each having 1-4 carbon atoms, and alkyl, alkoxy or alkylthio group each having 1-4 carbon atoms and substituted by halogen, or a halogen atom, n represents an integer of 1-4, Z represents O or S, R1 represents a C1-C4 alkyl group, R2 represents a C1-C4 alkyl group substituted by halogen and R3 represents NH2, NHCOR4 or N=CHR5 (wherein R4 represents H, a C1-C4 alkyl group, a C1-C4 substituted alkyl group, a C3-C6 cycloalkyl group or a C2-C5 alkenyl group and R5 represents an alkyl, alkoxy or alkylamino group each having 1-4 carbon atoms)]. These compounds are produced by reacting a salt of corresponding benzofuranylalkylamine with cyanoguanidine to prepare a salt of benzofuranylbiguanide and then by reacting it with an ester of the general formula R2 COOR6 (wherein R2 represents a C1-C4 alkyl group substituted by halogen and R6 represents a C1-C4 alkyl group) to prepare a triazine derivative (R3 in the general formulas I, II represents an NH2 group provided that the NH2 group can be changed optionally to other R3). |
