titleOfInvention | Method for the simultaneous assay of at least two sub-sets of apolipoproteins present in a biological medium |
abstract | The subsets of apolipoproteins to which the assay method applies belong, respectively, to at least two groups of lipoprotein particles and contain a "common apolipoprotein", - the first group consisting of lipoprotein particles all carrying the abovementioned "common apolipoprotein" constituting the first subset, - it being possible for the second group to consist of lipoprotein particles all containing the "common apolipoprotein" defined above and this second group carrying, in addition, at least one apolipoprotein Yn different from the possible other apolipoproteins Xm carried by the lipoprotein particles of the first group and constituting the second subset; the assay method consisting in bringing the two subsets of apolipoproteins to be assayed into contact with a mixture of antibodies containing . on the one hand antibodies directed towards the apolipoprotein(s) constituting the second subset (Yn) in a sufficient amount to precipitate the lipoprotein particles of the second group; . on the other hand antibodies directed towards the abovementioned "common apolipoprotein", constituting the first subset, in a sufficient amount to precipitate the lipoprotein particles of the first group and in excess relative to the amount of the abovementioned antibodies necessary for precipitation of the lipoprotein particles of the first group, in a ratio such that, after immunodiffusion, two distinct boundaries are obtained. Use in assay kits. |
