titleOfInvention | Norbornadiene derivatives |
abstract | Novel compounds of the general formula:-n in which each of R¹ and R² independently represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl, cycloalkyl or aryl group; n is 0 or an integer from 1 to 4; and A is an optionally substituted propenyl formate group of the general formula:n in which R³ is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl, cycloalkyl or aryl group; and each of R⁴ and R⁵ independently represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl, cycloalkyl or aryl group, or R⁴ and R⁵ together represent an alkylene chain; are useful chemical intermediates. They may be converted by an internal hydrogenolysis reaction into known norbornene derivatives. |
