A crystalline form of L-aspartic acid, referred to as β-L-Asp, which is obtained in the form of cylindrical crystals of low water content and which exhibit X-ray diffraction peaks at angles of diffraction (2ϑ, Cu Kα line) of at least 18.8°, 19.7° and 25.0° when measured by a powder X-ray diffraction method, is disclosed herein. |
