titleOfInvention BIOLOGICAL REGULATION OF DEHYDRATION AND ROTATION OF ROOTS AND PRODUCTION OF A VACCATION THEREFOR.
abstract Substantially pure cultures of ATCC 53522 and its mutants are effective in protecting plants from dehydration and root rot which can be determined by a defined plant protection test. The invention further comprises a protective toxin produced by the above-mentioned bacteria. A seed inoculation preparation includes an effective amount of the bacteria or toxin in a carrier. One method of protecting plants from dehydration and root rot is to place an effective amount of the bacteria or toxin in the immediate vicinity of a plant to be protected.
