Process for the preparation of tert-alkyl esters of the formula wherein m is 1 or 2, R is C4-C12-tert-alkyl, X, when m = 1, unsubstituted or halogen-substituted alkyl, cycloalkyl, unsubstituted or substituted aryl or aralkyl, or an aromatic heterocyclic radical and, at m = 2, a direct bond, - (̵ CH 2 ) ̵ n , where n can be an integer from 1 to 8, means 1,2-, 1,3- or 1,4-phenylene, by reacting an ester of Formula II wherein R 1 is methyl or ethyl, with an alcohol ROH in the presence of a catalyst customary for transesterifications. |
