For the examination of fluids, such as infusion liquids on foreign bodies, which could lead to blockage of infusion needles or other danger to the patient, a method for the detection of foreign bodies in fluids, wherein light is directed onto the fluid and light emanating from it, is proposed, that the surface of the fluid is illuminated with polarized light, the light that passes through the fluid is largely darkened by further polarization, the light intensity of individual measuring ranges is measured by optoelectronic scanning and the measured intensity is compared with an adjustable threshold, and if the threshold value is exceeded during a measurement interval, corresponding signals are given be generated. |
