titleOfInvention Process for the preparation of an incorporable bituminous cold-miscible material based on a bitumen emulsion, and a mixture of minerals with graded grain sizes
abstract The invention relates to a method for processing a bituminous, ready-to-install cold mix based on a bitumen emulsion and a graded grain size mineral mixture.n n n To date, there is no emulsion that enables satisfactory mass production of cold mix, in which the product is easy to process and can be laid in thick layers.n n n A disadvantage is the considerable transport effort for the emulsion itself, which consists of approximately half of water.n n n It is an object to name a process which allows the introduction of the emulsion production to the plant for the preparation of bituminous mixes as far as possible, the emulsion itself being so determined that it meets the current requirements of road construction. This takes place with the processing of the bitumen emulsion in an emulsion processing unit integrated with the mixing system, based on an already acidified road bitumen content and the additional alkalized water content, which is matched to the acid number of the bitumen, which is fed to a first colloid mill and converted into an anionic emulsion at the same time, and - in the further passage through a heat exchanger - cooled and mixed with 0.5 to 3% water-soluble or swellable, stabilizing and cation-activating protein substances, while the resulting hot water is alkalized and continuously fed to the emulsion preparation of the first colloid mill, and that the emulsion, in continuation through the heat exchanger, already takes on cationic properties in the alkaline medium due to the protein substances added to it in a highly stable form, and that this emulsion - sufficiently cooled - in one Passage through a second colloid mill with the introduction of neutral or acidic or sterilizing or adhesion-promoting additions proportionally dosed, mixed with the minerals and the mix is then laid.
