The invention deals with novel compounds useful nas antiviral agents. n The compounds have the structure n nwherein Z₁ and Z₂ are the same or different and selected from nhydrogen, one to six carbon atoms alkyls, phenyl and benzyl, nX is H, OH or together with Y is O, nY is H or together with X is O, nn is the integer 0, 2 or 4, nR₁ and R₂ together complete a beta-pentofuranose sugar, nR₃ is H or OH and nB is a substituted or unsubstituted pyrimidine base. |
