New derivatives of theophylline are described, which have the general formula:n in which R is selected from the group consisting of 2ʹ-(1ʹ-oxy-1ʹ, 3ʹ-dithiolanyl), 2ʹ-(1ʹ, 3ʹ-dithiolanyl) and 2ʹ-(1ʹ,3ʹ-dithianyl), possibly substituted in position 4ʹ. The derivatives have high antibronchospastic, antitussive and mucolytic activities. |
