abstract | The novel compounds of formula (I)n wherein R₁ is alkyl having 1 to 36 carbon atoms, cycloalkyl having 5 to 12 carbon atoms, phenyl which is unsubstituted or substituted by alkyl having 1 to 36 carbon atoms, naphthyl which is unsubstituted or substituted by alkyl having 1 to 36 carbon atoms, or aralkyl having 7 to 9 carbon atoms which is unsubstituted or substituted by alkyl having 1 to 36 carbon atoms, R₂ is hydrogen or has one of the meanings given for R₁, n is 1 to 4, and nwhen n is 1, T has one of the meanings given for R₁ or isn , or T and R₂ together with the carbon atoms to which they are attached form a ring containing 5 to 12 carbon atoms, nwhen n is 2, T is alkylene having 2 to 12 carbon atoms, orn wherein m is 1 or 2 and R₃ is hydrogen, alkyl or alkoxy each having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, hydroxyl, halogen, cyano or nitro, or T is n or R₂ and T together with the carbon atoms to which they are attached form a 6-membered to 12-membered carbocyclic ring, nwhen n is 3, T isn and nwhen n is 4, T isn wherein R₄ is hydrogen or methyl and R₃ and m are as previously defined, are effective in stabilizing an organic material against oxidative, thermal and/or actinic degradation. n In addition to the novel compounds of formula (I), corresponding compounds with n wherein R₅ is alkyl or alkoxy each having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, hydroxyl, halogen, cyano or nitro, also provide effective stabilizing activity. |
