abstract An electrode arrangement intended to be used for the dehydration and consolidation of a fine suspension comprises, extending upwards, a porous wall delimiting (14) a suspension body to be dehydrated, and, adjacent to the boundary wall (14), at least one upwardly extending electrode (16) designed to be part of an anode / cathode system. In a method for dehydrating a suspension body, an electric dehydrating current is passed through at least one electrode (16) of the upwardly extending arrangement and through at least one other electrode (22) disposed inside the body; said current being applied for a sufficient time to obtain a desired degree of dehydration of the suspension.
