abstract |
Novel compositions, articles, and methods are disclosed which are useful in dieting programs to achieve flavor set point satiety. The low-calorie fluid compositions include effective amounts of a flavor agent and a sweetener and are sprayable fluids adapted for oral administration to the dieter. The compositions include shelf-stable compositions having a high solids content. Also disclosed are food substances whose flavor is augmented by addition of substantially non-caloric flavor agents. Such fluid compositions and food substances are useful in the novel methods of dieting, wherein the dieter consumes during a given time interval food having a number of calories effective to produce weight loss, and consumes during that interval an amount of low-calorie flavor agent effective to achieve flavor set point satiety. |
