titleOfInvention Acrylate acryl amide copolymers with a low molecular weight, and process for reducing the deposition of salt in aqueous systems
abstract The invention relates to low molecular weight copolymers of acrylic acid or at least partially salified acrylic acid and acrylamide, their preparation process and their use. These copolymers can be used to prevent the formation of deposits on the walls of petroleum or geothermal installations, from aqueous systems containing dissolved salts. The copolymer is characterized in that it comprises units derived from acrylic acid and acrylamide in a weight ratio ranging from approximately 95: 5 to 25:75. In addition, the distribution of the molecular weights of said copolymer, determined by analytical exclusion chromatography, is such that at least 60% of the molecular weights by weight are less than 500.
