Process for the preparation of barium titanate BaTiO₃ by thermal decomposition of barium titanyl oxalate BaTiO (C₂O₄) ₂. 4H₂O, to form barium titanyl oxalate, an aqueous solution of barium chloride BaCl₂ is added dropwise with vigorous stirring into an aqueous solution mixture of oxalic acid H₂C₂O₄ and titanium oxychloride TiOCl₂ at a temperature in the range from 20 to 60 ° C and the precipitate at a temperature in the range from 900 to 1300 ° C is calcined. |
