abstract A method for tanning the skin of an animal covered with wool or hairs attached to said skin consists in stripping the skin of the animal by immersion in an acid solution and then tanning it by immersion in a solution containing at least one tanning substance. The animal's skin is stripped and tanned while a fixing agent is on the wool or the hairs, then the said skin is rubbed in order to remove the fixing agent.
