The invention relates to new sulfonamido-ethyl compounds of the general formula in the R 1 is a phenyl group which is mono-, di- or tri-substituted by a halogen atom, a methyl or methoxy group, where the substituents may be the same or different, a benzyl, nitrophenyl, acetamidophenyl or thienyl group, R2 is a hydroxycarbonyl or alkoxycarbonyl group bonded via a straight-chain or branched alkylene group or via an alkenylene group, it being possible for a methylene group of the abovementioned alkylene or alkenylene radicals, which must be linked to the heterocyclic radical, to be replaced by a hydroxymethylene or carbonyl group, or a 4,5-dihydropyridazin-3-one-6-yl or pyridazin-3-one-6-yl group optionally substituted in the carbon skeleton by an alkyl group and X represents an imino group optionally substituted by an alkyl group, an oxygen or sulfur atom, their enantiomers and their salts with inorganic or organic bases if R 2 contains a hydroxycarbonyl group. n n n The new compounds have valuable pharmacological properties, in particular antithrombotic effects, moreover these are thromboxane antagonists, and can be prepared by processes which are known per se.
