abstract | Pharmaceutical composition comprising an oxygenated cholesterol and a penetration enhancer, which pharmaceutical composition is intended for local application on the skin of a patient suffering from a proliferative skin disease and characterized by germ cells having a speed high replication, p. ex. psoriasis. The composition comprises an effective amount of an oxygenated cholesterol, eg 26-hydroxycholesterol, or a pharmaceutically effective derivative such as an ester or an ether, for inhibiting the mitosis of germ cells. The invention also relates to a method of treating a patient suffering from such a skin disease and comprising applying said therapeutic composition to the affected skin. The invention also relates to the local application of these compositions to the skin to reduce inflammation. |
