abstract Disclosed herein is a polyester composition containing specific fine spherical silica particles and a process for preparing the polyester composition. Films produced from the polyester composition, which are especially suitable as a base film for a magnetic recording medium or a capacitor are also disclosed herein. The films produced from the polyester composition of the present invention have the markedly improved properties such as surface properties, electromagnetic properties, electrical properties, etc. due to the excellent dispersibility of the particles in the polyester composition.
