New 2,4,5,6-tetraaminopyrimidine derivatives of the general formula in which R¹ is a group -NH- (CH₂) n -NH-, where n = 2-4, a group -NH-CH₂-CH (OH) -CH₂-NH- or a group is, R² and R³ independently of one another are hydrogen, chlorine or a group -OR⁴ and A is a CH group or a nitrogen atom and their salts are suitable as developer components for oxidation hair colorants which, with a large number of conventional coupler compounds, have a broad spectrum of brilliant color shades with good absorbency train on human hair and high fastness properties. |
