titleOfInvention Apparatus for measuring and non-destructive material testing of laid pipelines
abstract A device for measuring and for non-destructive material testing on installed pipelines in the form of a pig moved through the pipeline and guided on the inner wall of the pipeline, has at least one circular support with measuring sensors arranged on its circumference and at least one pressure-resistant housing, the devices for processing the measured values and recording as well as for the power supply. In order to ensure that the sensors are at the smallest possible and always constant distance and in the same angular position to the pipe wall, the carrier is designed as a cylindrical sleeve made of a rubber-elastic material and provided with a profile in the axial, radial and circumferential direction, the elevations of which are on a cylindrical envelope area with a slightly larger outside diameter than the inside diameter of the pipeline and in the sinks of which the sensors are arranged on a surface concentric with the envelope surface. Furthermore, the cuff is gimbally attached to the trailing end of the pig.
