Modified Liberian vegetable fibers, in particular of flax, characterized by a greater fineness, a quantity of non-cellulosic materials lower, a crystalline structure of the cellulose at least as ordered. They can be obtained by subjecting the fibers to a high pressure water vapor hydrolysis treatment for a limited time, followed by a sudden expansion at atmospheric pressure, then a washing treatment. Application: flax fibers. |
