titleOfInvention | Bronchodilatory peptides |
abstract | The peptides of the formula nX - Tyr - X² - Gly - Phe(4NO₂) - Pro - NH₂ nwherein X is hydrogen or an amidino group and X² is D-S-nmethylmethionyl or D-arginyl, together with their pharmaconlogically acceptable salts, which have been described as exhinbiting analgesic, antidiarrhoeal and antitussive activity, are neffective in reversing neuronally-mediated bronchoconstricntion in mammals. The said compounds have application in nthe palliation of conditions characterised by such a state, in nparticular asthma in human beings. |
