abstract According to the present invention, a protein in which a part of the amino acid sequence is represented by the polypeptide n Met-Glu-Leu-Gln-Val-Ser-Ser-Gly-Phe-Val nand which shows reactivity with an anti-Fc ε receptor antibody can be obtained. Such a protein is an IgE binding factor that binds to IgE and affects IgE production of B lymphocytes. According to the present invention, a gene coding for the Fcε receptor or IgE binding factor is provided and the IgE binding factor can be produced using such a gene.
