titleOfInvention Method for tightly closing a cup-like case of an electrical componant by means of a lid
abstract The invention relates to a method for sealing a cup-shaped housing (1) of an electrical component with a cover (2) and a sealing ring (3) arranged between the outwardly projecting housing edge (7) and the cover (2) Series production guarantees short process times and leads to components that are suitable for higher voltages with small dimensions. For this purpose, a welding ring (6) made of thermoplastic is placed under the housing edge (7) of the housing (1) made of metal. After the sealing ring (3) has been introduced between the housing edge (7) and the cover (2) made of the same thermoplastic, this cover (2) is brought into contact with the welding ring (6). Finally, the cover (2) is then pressed onto the sealing ring (3) and in the meantime welded to the welding ring (6), preferably by ultrasound.
