titleOfInvention Electronic control system for controlling pelvic viscera via neuro-electrical stimulation
abstract An electronic control system is disclosed for controlling the function of a bladder or bowel and their sphincters by applying pulse trains to one or more electrodes positioned on selected nerve bundles. The system can also be used for modulating symptons resulting from a loss of co ordination between the normally synchronized functions of a bladder and/or bowel and their associated sphincters and for treating incontinence by increasing sphincter tonus.
