| abstract |
Method of manufacturing an absorbent article such as a sanitary napkin or a incontinence napkin comprising an absorbent body surrounded by an envelope, and article produced by this method. The absorbent body described below consists of a lower layer (1) consisting of at least one bed and an upper layer (2) consisting of a bed or several beds separated from each other, this upper layer (2) is fitting tightly to the wearer's skin and acting as a spacer between the wearer's skin and the bottom layer (1), while at least laterally defining a bowl-shaped space (7) around which the we call the anchor point. Since the article is thicker and therefore more rigid in the zones (9, 10) located around the bowl-shaped space than in the zone below this space, the latter is kept expanded when 'the article is applied to the body of the user. |
