abstract | Process for the preparation of α-aminoalkylphosphonic acids or their salts of the formula A <IMAGE> in which R¹ is H, alkyl having 1 to 4 carbon atoms or CH2-C6H5 and XH or a metal cation, characterized in that compounds of the formula B < IMAGE> wherein R¹ has the same meaning as in formula A and M <p +> is hydrogen or a p-valent metal cation, treated with a hypohalite of a p-valent metal cation and the metal salt formed or the reaction mixture obtained for the preparation of the α-aminoalkylphosphonic acid acidifies. The compounds A are e.g. T. biologically active, e.g. T. intermediates for the production of biologically active and other compounds. |
