abstract Radial press with a plurality of press jaws (18), the outer sides of which each have at least two control surfaces (19, 20) which are inclined with respect to the press axis in a V-shaped arrangement. These are moved in the radial direction by two control bodies (1, 2), the inner sides of which each have at least one control surface (14, 15) which interacts with the associated control surfaces of the press jaws. The control bodies (1, 2) are axially displaced relative to one another by a drive device (3). The control surfaces (19, 20) and (14, 15) of the press jaws (18) and the control body (1, 2) are flat surfaces with an incline in the axial direction, the surface normals of which intersect the axis (A) through the center of gravity. The control surfaces (14, 15) of the control bodies (1, 2) form the base surfaces of grooves (12, 13), the side walls (16, 17) of which run parallel and are guide surfaces for the press jaws (18). Plates (23, 24) made of a bearing material are inserted between the control surfaces (14, 15) of the control bodies (1, 2) and the control surfaces (19, 20) of the press jaws (18).
