abstract |
A polymeric material for improved intraocular lenses comprising a polymer or glass substrate modified by depositing with a gas plasma a layer of fluorocarbons to produce a rigid surface at low energy, and resulting in damage markedly reduced cells with respect to the endothelial tissues of the cornea. The preferred lens material is made by exposing a polymeric substrate to a gas plasma of a fluorinated hydrocarbon. |
