Process for the preparation of chiral glycine derivatives |
abstract |
A simple enantiomer separation of the 1,3-imidazolidin-4-ones of the general formula <IMAGE> made from glycine esters, primary alkylamines and pivalaldehyde with a chiral acid makes chiral glycine derivatives of the general formula <IMAGE> easily accessible, which after diastereoselective α-alkylation lead to branched and unbranched, proteinogenic and non-proteinogenic (R) - and (S) -amino acids. |
