abstract | This invention relates to the discovery that esters of phthalic acids are effective wood penetrant-carriers for biocidally active ingredients, especially oil soluble or oil miscible ingredients, in basal sprays. n The invention provides a basal spray composition comprising:n (a) a biocidally active ingredient; and (b) a penetrant-carrier comprising a compound having the general formula:n whereinn R 1 and R 2 are individually hydrogen, or C 1 -C 10 alkyl, aryl, or aryl-(C 1 -C 10 ) alkyl group with the proviso that R 1 and R 2 cannot both be hydrogen. |
