abstract Blood spillages are disinfected by scattering thereon (e.g. from a shaker pack having apertures in the lid thereof) an effervescent composition containing a source of available chlorine. A suitable composition contains 50% by weight sodium dichloroisocyanurate, 24% by weight adipic acid and 20% by weight sodium hydrogen carbonate.
