titleOfInvention | Improvements relating to the detection of viruses and antibodies |
abstract | The presence of a virus of the Herpes group or the corresponding antibodies in a clinical sample containing beta2m microglobulin (beta2m) may be reliably detected by (1) bringing the sample into contact with a reagent which will reveal the presence of the virus or antibody whose presence is being detected, the sample and/or reagent being freed from or free from beta2m or (2) contacting a sample to be assayed for virus with a reagent that reacts with beta2m and which will form an anti-beta2m/beta2m/virus conjugate and subsequently assaying for virus. |
