abstract The present invention provides for the use of a lubricant coating (29) composed of hydrophilic polymer and surfactant for intubation devices (10) such as nasogastric tubes. The coating (29) is strong and attains sufficient lubricity upon contact with water in less than 5 minutes and preferably in 5 to 10 seconds for it to be used in intubation procedures.
