abstract In a process for printing leather substrates using the transfer printing process by surface treatment of the substrate, placing an auxiliary substrate printed with sublimable dyes and transferring the dyes to the substrate by dry heat treatment, the substrate surface is impregnated with an aqueous solution of a precondensate of a urea-aldehyde resin or melamine. Aldehyde resin, the solvent is removed at a temperature which does not yet cause condensation of the precondensate, and the dyes are transferred at a temperature between 140 and 250 ° C. for a sufficiently long time to simultaneously condense out the precondensate.
