abstract |
A sealing member comprises a mold (7) of hollow cylindrical shape containing a polymer gel whose conical penetration index is between 30 and 40 approximately (10-1mm) and whose elongation power is between 25% and about 850%. At least one cylindrical mandrel (2) is arranged in this mold (7) so that the polymer gel is at least partially pierced by one or more orifices. The mold (7) and the mandrels (2) are composed of a material having a flexural modulus of at least 4 x 103 psi approximately substantially incompatible with the polymer gel, the dimensions of which are stable at the gel formation temperature. polymer and whose release speed is equal to at least 0.02 inches / sec at a demolding temperature equal to 180o. The invention also relates to a method of manufacturing a sealing member. |
