titleOfInvention Monoclonal antibody
abstract An anti-human pancreatic a-amylase monoclonal antibody having the following properties: (a) capable of recognizing human pancreatic a-amylase; (b) substantially unable to recognize human salivary a-amylase; and (c) not deactivating human pancreatic a-amylase even after its immunoreaction with said enzyme as the antigen. A method for assaying human pancreatic a-amylase using the monoclonal antibody, a method for separating human pancreatic a-amylase from human salivary a-amylase, and a reagent therefor are also disclosed. Separation and assaying of human pancreatic a-amylase and human salivary a-amylase in human body liquid such as blood serum serve to diagnose various diseases, particularly pancreatic diseases.
