The invention relates to crosslinkable, water-soluble or dispersed polymeric compositions, processes for their preparation and their use.n n n These polymeric compositions which crosslink after drying at room temperature or elevated temperature are obtained by reacting polymeric organic compounds having carbonyl and carboxyl groups with polyhydrazides in the presence of monoketones or monoaldehydes and are dissolved or dispersed in water by at least partially neutralizing the carboxyl groups.n n n They are suitable as crosslinkers and as binders for coatings on flat substrates. |
