abstract | improved magnesium phosphate fast-setting cementitious compositions containing a carboxylic acid, salt or acid derivative. These compositions form a hardened mass when water is addet at ambient temperatures. The incorporation of the carboxylic acid, salt or acid derivative within these compositions retards the initial setting time, increases the early compressive strength of the resulting hardened mass by allowing a reduced amount of water to be added to the compositions. These compositions include a solid activator containing a P 2 0 5 material, e.g. ammonium phosphate fertilizer, adsorbed onto a porous material, e.g. diatomaceous earth. |
