titleOfInvention Bis(dibenzo[b,d]pyranyloxy)propanes
abstract Dibenzopyrone derivatives which possess depressant nand/or antihypoxia activity are 1,3-bis(dibenzo[b,d] pyranyloxy npropanes having the formula (1): n nwhere R and R¹ independently represent hydrogen or methyl; nwhere A is n-CH₂CH₂ nand where X represents single substitution with oxygen or nsubstitution with hydrogen and a second group taken to be hyndrogen, hydroxyl, amino, C₁-C₄ alkylamino or an acyloxy nradical (-O-B) where B represents C₁-C₁₅ alkyl, n-CH₂CH₂-COOH, or (dimethylamino)phenyl. Also included are npharmaceutically acceptable salt forms of the compounds. n These compounds are useful as sedatives and/or for the nprotection of warm blooded animals from the effects of oxygen ndeprivation.
