abstract Method and device for treating gaseous effluents containing nitrogen oxides comprising an acid washing operation containing urea in a washer (9) followed by an alkaline washing operation in a washer (10) in order to remove these nitrogen oxides from the effluent. The residual liquids are collected and recirculated from the curves (2, resp. 8) and can be mixed in a container (18) at the end of the operation with a view to their neutralization.
