titleOfInvention | Determination of bilirubin and corresponding reagents |
abstract | The method for determining total bilirubin in a biological sample by the diazo method entails using one or more detergents of the general formula <IMAGE> in which R1, R2, n, R3 and R4 have the meanings mentioned in Claim 1. The method ensures greater linearity, more favourable reaction kinetics, which permit use of the autoblanking system, simpler reagent preparation, long stability of the solutions used and good reproducibility. A very particularly preferred detergent of the general formula I is dodecylethyldimethylammonium bromide. The reagents for determining bilirubin can be in aqueous solution or, preferably, in stabilised and lyophilised form. |
