A catalyst comprising a group VI A metal component and a group VIII metal component supported on a carrier composed of an inorganic oxide based on alumina and a faujasite zeolite having a specified particle size distribution can be used in hydrotreating heavy hydrocarbon oil to exhibit an excellent desulfurization activity and give a middle fraction such as ker- osine or gas oil in a high yield. |
