titleOfInvention IMAGING DOPPLER INTERFEROMETER.
abstract A system (Figure 1) for simultaneously locating a plurality of targets and distinguishing between noise targets uses phase detector techniques (Figure 1, # 18) to generate complex voltage signals and obtain phase information . A spectral analysis (Figure 4, # 172) of the time functions of the complex voltage is performed to generate Doppler frequency functions. The spectral phase function, as well as the spectral amplitude functions, are generated based on the Doppler frequency functions (Figure 4, # 174). Spectral phase functions are analyzed using interferometry techniques (Figure 4, # 178) to determine if a potential target has a common location source, based on the signals returned by a plurality of sensors. An overhead angle is also generated by interferometry techniques to provide information on the location of multiple targets. The selection of signals over a range of distances (Figure 4, # 182) and two methods of detecting the frequency range provide high resolution information over a range of distances regarding the location of targets. High resolution information over a range of distances and two-dimensional overhead angle information is used to provide an image of the targets.
