In a process for the hydroboration of alkenes and alkynes with catecholborane (1, 3, 2-benzodioxaborolane), optionally with the addition of an organic solvent, the reaction with a complex compound of the formulas: (I) RhCl (CO) x [E (C6H5) 3] 3 -x, where "E" is arsenic or phosphorus and "x" is 0 or 1, (II) [RhCl (alkene) 2] 2, (III) [(C6H5) 3P] 3Ru (CO) ClH or (IV) [(C6H5) 3P] 3RuCl2 is catalyzed. Suitable catalysts are e.g. Tris (triphenylphosphine) rhodium (I) chloride, bis (cyclooctadiene) rhodium (I) chloride. |
